BuildingWise firmly believes in the value of LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™ as an evaluation and comparison methodology for building performance and sustainability. Though developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in 2000, BuildingWise founder and staff have played an integral part in developing and writing LEED guidelines and curriculum.
The LEED program provides the methodology and structure to effectively analyze, measure, and communicate construction and operational sustainability practices in institutional and corporate facilities. In addition to signifying high-performance and the resulting efficiencies and increased ROI, the prestigious LEED certification can create a tremendous amount of marketability and good public relations.
LEED is flexible enough to be applied to all building types, of any size – from commercial to residential. The program was designed to improve performance across the board in what matters most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, stewardship of resources, and sensitivity to their impacts.
BuildingWise is continually developing new ways to use the LEED program and is rewriting the rules with the USGBC to bring certification to challenging buildings by delivering the smartest LEED solutions. Though BuildingWise has become a leading global provider of LEED for Existing Buildings (EB) consulting services, it is now breaking new ground with major achievements in Commercial Interiors (CI) and New Construction (NC) certifications, both domestically in the United States, and abroad.
